Kim Parkhurst lives deep away in the woods of New England, where inspiration is found right outside the back door (and sometimes wanders in uninvited). She shares her home with a menagerie of friendly creatures, most of whom find their way into her artwork - either in portrait fashion, or quite literally with paws in the paint. Trained to become an illustrator, Kim uses each painting as a magic doorway by which one can not only visit imaginary friends and places, but also share them with others. Her work is distinguished by exacting detail and fresh secrets which reward the viewer with each subsequent examination. Captivated since childhood by lush picture-books and richly-illustrated stories, she endeavors to make each painting  tell its own tale. Her inspiration is drawn from myriad sources: her own garden, books, dolls and old toys, the glorious color palettes of art glass, and of course the work of many great illustrators and fine artists.   Click Here to go to Kim's Shop
